      How to back up the database on a refractometer with software version 2.3.0

      Steps for backing up the database on refractometers with software version 2.3.0 which does not have the "Backup" functionality.

      Software version 2.3.0.1 was released in 2011 and the referred manual (A24145 J157/J257/J357/J457 REFRACTOMETER USER MANUAL Revision O – November 2023) is not applicable for this software. This version of the software does not have backup functionality in it.
       
      These are the steps you have to follow to manually backup. 
      1. Insert a USB drive in the instrument.
      2. Click MENU -> SERVICE SETTINGS -> CONTROL PANEL -> WINDOWS CONTROL PANEL.
      3. Open Windows Explorer.
      4. Navigate to USB drive.
      5. Create a folder and name it with current date, like 20250207 Backup.
      6. Navigate to C:\Refractometer folder.
      7. Copy ‘Data’ and ‘Database’ folders and paste them in to the USB drive backup folder you just created.

      Question: Is 21CFR11 enabled? Where are the measurement PDF files stored? On instrument or in network. If they are stored on the network, you should also include that location in your organization backup, done by IT.
