Error occurred while initiating comm.

This usually occurs when the optics module loses communication with the computer. Please follow the steps below and provide information to determine next steps.

1. Confirm that the cable on back of the optics module is securely fastened to the instrument.

2. Select Menu, if prompted for a passcode, enter 123

3. Select Service Settings, if prompted for a passcode, enter 519

4. Select Factory or Factory Settings, if prompted for a passcode, enter 007

5. A new window will open displaying the comm port. Record the Comm Port that is displayed.

6. Select Cancel

7. Select Shell Launcher

8. Select Control Panel

9. Select Device Manager

10. Select Ports

11. A list of comm ports will be displayed, look for one that starts with AVR as the example shown below and confirm if:

    1. There is an AVR comm port

    2. Does the AVR comm port match? If the comm AVR port listed does not match, record the number and reply back to this email with the results.
