# How to clear a "You have performed 2000 reading sets, a purge of database is required before further measurements can be taken" message.

## The instrument displays a message "You have performed 2000 reading sets, a purge of database is required before further measurements can be taken"

The steps below apply to the following instruments and software versions: 

- Autopol I/II/III – Software versions starting with 1 (example 1.0.7.0)
- Autopol IV/V/V+/VI – Software versions starting with 2 (example 2.8.5.0)

To resolve the error, follow the steps below.

1. Click Setup
2. Enter the passcode 123
3. Select Calibration And Service
4. Enter the passcode 519
5. Select Instrument Settings
6. Select Database Maintenance
7. Enter the passcode 519
8. Set the Max number of readings to 3000
